1. CO2 Challenge
Compared to pre-industrial times, the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere is now 50% higher and is still rising. The initial 25% increase took 200 years, but it doubled in 30 years. The main reason for this increase is our reliance on fossil fuels as energy.
2. Response Plan
(1) Vigorously develop renewable energy such as solar and wind power, replace fossil energy with clean energy, and reduce CO2 production from the source.
(2) Traditional tree restoration, relying on green plants to absorb CO2; new technologies such as direct air capture and carbon mineralization; and bioenergy and carbon capture and storage, burning biomass while capturing and emitting CO2.
(3) Carbon capture and utilization (CCUS). This is a key move for emission reduction. It integrates carbon capture, utilization and storage technologies. It uses special technologies to accurately separate carbon dioxide from waste gas for large emitters such as power plants and industrial facilities, so that it can be captured before being discharged into the atmosphere. It is then buried deep underground or integrated into concrete, chemicals and other products to turn waste into treasure.
3. NEWTEK's efforts in carbon capture
Technical reference and optimization:
Capturing CO₂ from waste gas of urban waste incineration plants (WtE), and verifying the concept of high-purity carbon dioxide capture after 8,000 hours of operation, NEWTEK has devoted itself to studying its own carbon dioxide capture and purification technology, striving to accurately and efficiently extract high-purity carbon dioxide from complex waste gas sources, and adapting to agricultural diversified utilization.
Product customization and research and development:
Based on the characteristics of agricultural scenarios, from the promotion experience of carbon dioxide capture devices in environmentally friendly agriculture and algae industry, valves and supporting equipment are customized. Focus on improving the accuracy of carbon dioxide flow control, ensuring stable and appropriate supply, and avoiding flow fluctuations affecting agricultural production.
Cooperation expansion and promotion:
NEWTEK has joined hands with scientific research institutions, local governments and enterprises to start external cooperation. Based on its accumulated technology, it has developed a unique carbon dioxide adsorption solvent. In the test of the cooperative factory, it has demonstrated the advantages of efficient adsorption and easy recycling, helping to reduce the cost and expand the scale of agricultural carbon dioxide utilization, and promoting green development.
