FAQ

What is a cryogenic air separation plant?
A cryogenic air separation plant is an industrial device that uses cryogenic refrigeration technology to separate air into oxygen, nitrogen and rare gases (such as argon, etc.).

How does it work?
After being compressed and purified, the air is liquefied by low-temperature cooling (about -196°C), and then fractionated and purified in a distillation tower by using the difference in boiling points of each gas component (such as nitrogen boiling point is lower than oxygen).

Main application areas?

Industrial gas supply (such as steel, chemical, and electronic manufacturing)

Medical oxygen

Aerospace (liquid oxygen/liquid nitrogen fuel)

Energy storage (such as liquid nitrogen cooling superconducting equipment)

Key advantages and challenges?

Advantages: high purity (oxygen can reach 99.9%), large-scale production economy.

Challenges: high energy consumption, complex equipment, and large initial investment.
