Air Liquefaction Unit

Air Liquefaction Unit
Product Introduction:
An air liquefaction device is a special equipment that converts gaseous air into liquid air through low-temperature refrigeration technology. Its core principle is to use the laws of thermodynamics to lower the air temperature to the liquefaction point (approximately -196°C, under standard atmospheric pressure) while separating the main components of the air (nitrogen, oxygen, argon, etc.).

Application Areas

Industrial gas production: The core application is to produce a large amount of cheap oxygen (for steel smelting, welding), nitrogen (for food preservation, protective gas in the electronics industry), argon (for arc welding), etc. by separating liquid air.

Medical field: Liquid oxygen is used as respiratory support (such as first aid, oxygen therapy) after vaporization, and liquid nitrogen is used for cryotherapy (such as skin diseases, tumors).

Cryogenic technology: Provides a low-temperature environment for superconducting experiments (superconductors need to work in the liquid nitrogen temperature zone) and low-temperature physics research.

Aerospace and energy: Liquid oxygen is used as an oxidant for rocket propellants, and liquid nitrogen is used as a cooling medium for liquefied natural gas transportation (LNG).

Process description

Air compression: Inhale the atmosphere, pressurize it through the compressor, and cool it down through the cooler.

Purification: Remove impurities such as moisture, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons.

Refrigeration and cooling: The purified high-pressure air passes through the refrigeration cycle and gradually cools down to below -190℃ by expansion cooling.

Liquefaction separation: After the air reaches the liquefaction point, it is converted into liquid, and then separated into liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, etc. through the distillation tower by using the difference in boiling points, and stored in low-temperature containers respectively.

FAQ

What is an air separation unit?
An air separation unit is an industrial facility used to separate atmospheric air into its main components.

What is air liquefaction?
In this process, air is alternately compressed, cooled, and expanded, with each expansion causing a significant drop in temperature. When the temperature drops, the molecules move slower and take up less space, so the air changes phase to liquid.

What is a liquefaction unit?
Natural gas liquefaction systems refer to the processes and technologies used to convert natural gas into liquid form, which is critical to the operation and efficiency of LNG plants.
