Oxygen Nitrogen Separation Unit

Oxygen Nitrogen Separation Unit
Product Introduction:
The Oxygen Nitrogen Separation Unit uses the principle of cryogenic fractionation. After air is compressed, cooled and purified, it enters the fractionation tower for separation. Oxygen and nitrogen in the air are separated according to their different boiling points. Nitrogen is discharged from the top of the tower, and liquid oxygen is collected from the bottom of the tower. The system can provide liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and gaseous nitrogen according to user needs.

How it works

The Oxygen Nitrogen Separation Unit (ONSU) uses cryogenic fractionation technology to separate oxygen and nitrogen from the air. First, the air is compressed and pre-cooled, and then enters the molecular sieve adsorber for purification to remove moisture and impurities. The purified air enters the cryogenic fractionation tower, where oxygen and nitrogen are separated according to their different boiling points. Liquid oxygen is collected at the bottom of the tower, and liquid nitrogen is discharged from the top of the tower. Liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and gaseous nitrogen are cooled or heated and output as products. The unit also has gas recovery and regeneration functions to improve efficiency and is widely used in chemical, metallurgical, medical and other fields.

FAQ

How to remove nitrogen from air?

The three main processes for obtaining nitrogen from ambient air are cryogenic distillation, membrane separation, and pressure-swing adsorption (PSA). The selection of the process depends on the product flow rate, purity, and state (liquid or gas).

What is asu in oil and gas?

Air Separation Units (ASU) refine air in a separation process with low distillation temperature (-196°C) allowing the bulk production of oxygen, nitrogen and argon. Air separation is also the most practical source for production of rare noble gases such as neon, krypton and xenon.

What is the difference between GPU and ASU?
ASUs are commonly required in situations where the internal starting system of an aircraft is inoperable. On the other hand, GPUs are regularly employed during ground operations when the airplane requires electrical power without relying on its engines.
